Joan Ray, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away August 9th, 2009 in Indianapolis.She was born on Oct 9, 1935, the daughter of Don and Hazel Bell. She graduated from Broad Ripple H.S. and enlisted in the US Army in 1955.She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jack C. Ray; children Linda Burkett, Lisa Dawson, Sandy Young, Kim Bermingham, Tracy Rowley, and Timothy Ray; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug 15th at 12:00, at Harry W. Moore Funeral Care & Crematory, with visitation from 11-12.

I was so very sorry to hear of Joan’s death. My family lived across the street from the Bell family when they lived on Haverford. I reconnected with Joan when her daughter’s were students at Indian Creek when I was librarian there. I have many fond memories of all of the Bell Family.
