Jean Spencer Huguenard, of Pendleton, Indiana died peacefully at home with loving family the evening of May 27, 2013 at the age of 82 years. Jean was born Verna Jean Greene on October 7, 1930 in Bristol, VA to parents John Lester Greene and Oda Viola Statzer Greene. She grew up in Bristol VA and graduated from Tennessee High School in 1948. She lived her life at numerous times in Bristol VA, Indianapolis IN, Detroit MI, Van Wert OH, Fort Wayne IN, Indianapolis IN, Zionsville IN, and Pendleton IN. Jean considered both Bristol and Indiana to be her home and spent her later years shared between both. Jean had a full and loving life touching many people as a daughter, stepdaughter, sister, cousin, niece, shopkeeper, clerical worker, wife, homemaker, hostess, loving mother of (3), stepmother, mother in law, grandmother of (5), political campaigner, socialite, businesswoman, and finally a homemaker and mother again.
Jean is survived by her daughter Virginia L. Spencer of Zionsville IN, son William J. Spencer of Pendleton IN, brother Dennis Hare of Bristol VA, sisters Taffey Greene Barb and Susan Greene Key of Bristol VA, stepmother Hazel Greene Abrams of Bristol VA, stepdaughter Pamela Spencer Williams of Oakland CA, grandchildren Courtney Spencer, John Sperl, Bethany Spencer, Ben Sperl and James Sperl of Fishers and Zionsville IN, uncle Hatler Statzer and cousins Marlene, Clara, and Nadeen of Bristol VA.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents John Lester and Oda Viola Greene, her son John D. Spencer of Pendleton IN, husband William P. Spencer of Zionsville IN, Husband Ronald E. Huguenard of Fort Wayne IN, stepson James Craig Spencer of Eustis FL, aunt Eta Ruth Statzer and cousin Vivian of Bristol VA.
