Date Of Birth: March 28, 1925
Date Of Death: November 4, 2010

Jane Margaret Kauffman Shaw went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 4, 2010. Born to Foster and Jane Kauffman in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on March 28, 1925, she moved as a teenager with her family to Bloomfield, New Jersey, where she graduated from high school. She attended Nyack Bible College in Nyack, New York, and graduated as an R.N. from St. Luke’s Nursing School in New York City.
Through her brother, Russell R. Kauffman, she met the man who became her husband, Charles W. Shaw, and in 1950, as his bride, moved to Indianapolis where they lived the rest of their lives. She and Charlie were married for 45 years before his death in 1996.
Jane loved her family, was a friend to many, and had quite a sense of humor. She was a member of College Park Church in recent years.
She is survived by her sons, Kent C.Shaw (Nancy); Dale R. Shaw (Sarah); daughter, Charlane S.Rack (John); her beloved grandchildren: David (Julia), Hannah, and Abigail Shaw; Samuel, Joel (Kristen), Molly, and Kimber Shaw; and Rebecca Rack. Also surviving are her brother, Russell R. Kauffman, and several much-loved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 10th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Harry W. Moore Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road. A Funeral Service celebrating the life of Jane will be held Thursday, November 11th, 11.00 a.m., at College Park Church, 2606 W. 96th Street. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Child Evengelism Fellowship c/o College Park Church. Friends may visit her online memorial book at www.harrywmoore.com. John 11:25 ,”Jesus said, ’I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies.’” Psalms 118:24 “This is the day which the LORD has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it.”

    Dear Family,
I would like to tell you how much I loved your Jane , she was very special to me. From the first time I met her she had a spunk that even lasted in her last days with us. She was a sweet to everyone , and always had a story to tell us. I am sad to have lost her, but I am glad that she is with God and I think she was ready.I hope she knows that I loved taking care of her and will always think of her.

I only knew Mrs. Shaw through Dale and Sarah but feel like I knew her personally by praying for her. She had to have been a wonderful Mom and Grandma! I’m praying for you all as you share and enjoy memories. Much love – and appreciation- Lyn
