Just tried to send this to Steven’s e-address, but it was returned so will try this way: Please accept my sympathy in the loss of your Dad. As one who has lived in Stillwater for nearly 20 years, attended the Presbyterian Church here, and have served on the OSU/A&M Board of Regents for the past 12 years, I have personal and professional respect and gratitude for both your parents. Also for many years, your Mom and I were members of the same chapter of PEO. I was getting ready to sent your Dad’s obituary to our Chapter members, but all of them would appreciate a little update on your Mom as she was a real favorite of ours. If you could let me know news from her, we’d sure appreciate it. Having lost both my parents, I know the heaviness of the new mantle around your shoulders. You certainly had wonderful parents!

I greatly appreciate everyone who visits my father’s guestbook, and I hope you will take the time to make an entry. I would very much like to read any stories or remembrances you have of my father. You may not know that his life could have been very different. Dad was valedictorian of his high school class, and yet when he graduated high school he considered taking a job as a janitor at the high school because his family could not afford to send him to college. My grandfather, who died before I was born, decided that the whole family would move to Stillwater so Dad could attend OSU. Thank you for visiting my father’s guestbook.

Dear Steve, Mary Beth and Family:
We are thinking of all of you during this sad time. Please know that all are in our prayers. We read the obituary. Your father was such an accomplished person. We can all hope we leave such a footprint with our lives. He was blessed to have all of you as his family. Take Care.

Our mother is managing well right now and will be coming to Stillwater on Sunday before the Memorial service with all the family. She needs to see her friends and the town that she and daddy loved so very much. The last 5 months have been very difficult and she can’t really believe daddy is gone; she was with him for the last month while he was in hospice care. You can send cards to her at Westminster, 11050 Presbyterian Drive, apt 197, Indianapolis, Indiana 46236 Please include your phone number. You can contact me at 615 477-1996 We appreciate your love and support during this time.

    Mary Beth,

It has been a joy getting to know you and reading this about this truly wonderful man is getting to know another side of you and Steven. What a loss in your life, but what a treasure of life lessons and love to always remember and pass on.

Jay and Jimmie Lea were great friends. Jay also was my mentor and advisor during my PhD program. He was one really great guy. We will all miss him and his humor. John and (Gladys) Ruth Wiebelt

My thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Boggs’ family during their time of loss. I worked in the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs & Research during Dr. Boggs tenure as Vice President at Oklahoma State University. I have many fond memories while on staff in the Office of VPAAR.

Jimmie Lee: You were a familiar couple through Louella Hillier long before we ever met and then later became PEO sisters.

I know the Hilliers’ thought highly of Jim and he belonged to an era of commitment long since gone.

I do hope that the pain from headaches you experienced in Stillwater became better once you moved to Indiana.

    Lovingly in PEO, Lynda Hillier

The Boggs let us use their home the summer Jay worked in Wichita. He was helpful to me and to many others in our careers at OSU. Jay was great boss and good friend.

The first time I saw Jim Bobbs was when he was standing in front of my platoon at the US Naval Officers Indoctrination School, in Ft Schuler, NY in 1944. The next time we met was at Oklahoma A & M when I went there to begin Graduate Studies in 1957. He was walking down stairs my wife and I were walking up the stairs.
