Indianapolis—Howard “Bill� W. Rush, 92, passed away with family members by his side early Saturday morning, October 23, 2010.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII where he received the following medals: Victory Medal, Phillippine Liberation, Asiatic Pacific, American Area, and Bronze Star. Following his discharge, he worked for Chrysler from 1952, retiring in 1980. His hobbies were camping, fishing, playing solitaire, tinkering with clocks, and spending time with his grandkids.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene in 2007.
He is survived by his sisters, Margaret, Ginny, and Mable; his son, Donald; grandchildren, Billy, Donnie, and Crystan and their mother, Betty; and great-grandchildren, C.J. and Carlee.
Friends and family may call at Soldier’s Memorial Chapel at Fort Harrison Friday, October 29, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until Noon, with a prayer service at noon, followed by graveside services at Washington Park East.
