Helen Marie Sawyers, 82, of Indianapolis passed away on Friday, October 15th, 2010.

Helen was born in Shelbyville, IN on February 14, 1928, the daughter of the late Everett Russell and Mabel Marie (Aldridge) Weakley.

Helen married Paul E. Sawyers on December 27, 1952. She graduated from St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1950 and became the surgery supervisor of nurses. After she had children, Helen became a homemaker. She enjoyed her flower garden and keeping in contact with her friends, including her fellow nurse classmates. She was also a member of the Lawrence United Methodist Church.

Helen is survived by her husband Paul, two sons Michael of Greenfield, Thomas of Hempstead, Texas and a sister Dorothy Smith (Clarence) of Shelbyville.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 18 from 4-7pm at Harry W. Moore Funeral Care. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 19 at 11:30am. Burial at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
