To Marsha and Lanny, Chad, Jason, Imogene:
I’m very sorry to hear of Uncle Hal’s death. I know you’ve been devoting a lot of time and attention to him over the last few years and it hasn’t been easy for you or for him. I hope your memories of better days bring you comfort. He was a big presence in my life as a child. Nothing was more exciting that when you all came up to Michigan in the summer. And I still remember him taking us (Al and me?) to a baseball game one summer when we had the thrill of visiting you in Oaklandon.
    With much love, Karin
