I’m sure most everyone knows how much of a softy my Dad was under that tough guy attitude. A big goofball most of the time. It’s been hard finding pictures of him where he isn’t making faces at the camera. He was my rock, my stronghold and always a source of laughter with that dry wit of his. The best Dad and best Papa we could ever hope to have. We are going to miss him terribly!!!
Gregg Gorsuch says
My Uncle Gene…..He was a man I wish we could of seen more of. He always had a smile. I always thought he had the coolest sunglasses. He was a very smart man, who I enjoyed talking to. He was the first one who taught me to shoot a gun. I remember his smile when I shot the gun for the first time. He gave a chuckle and told me as I was rubbing my eye, that I bet you won’t hold the gun so close to your face the next time. A lesson learned. Greta was his special gal. He loved her very much. And any man that could keep Aunt Sally from marrying Glen Campbell, you know must of been pretty special. I remember all the wisdom at the lake from our fathers on new cars, politics and making fun of their children in a good way. I can still see them standing out by the cars or sitting by the lake watching us. He was a man that had a lot of patience, (Aunt Sally getting ready to go eat). As I have missed Aunt Sally, I will miss my Uncle Gene. He was loved by us all.
Vicki Leming says
What a guy! He had such a wonderful sense of humor and a
great big heart! He brightened a room with his grin and chuckle. I remember him teaching Greta to fish at the lake. He will be missed! His grin will forever warm our hearts and memories. With love –
Teresa Wells says
The tough guy image was out the window when Greta was born. It was obvious that she was the light and joy of his life. When kids were around it became a good excuse to become goofy, and I saw that too. A good man with a lot of love for his family. He will be missed by all of us. And from what I’ve heard from some of my friends Mom’s, quite the handsome devil in his younger years!
Greta Tamarri says
I am going to miss you so much, as I already am. It’s strange not being able to talk to you. Watch over Amber as you always have. I’ll do my best on this end. I know I will see you again, but in the meantime, can you make sure that you rub that little red horse’s face and throw a basketball to Max.
Darrel Mcclanahan says
Always looked forward to seeing Uncle Gene on the forth of July every year. So layed back but always had something interesting to say with humor to go along with it. Will be missed by all of us very much.
Amber Reynolds says
When i was a little girl I remember waiting for him to get home from work and when he came through that door I would run to him and jump in his arms, I would tell him “Papa I’m marrying you when I grow up” obviously that wasn’t happening, My grandfather was the most handsome man in my eyes, he was strong, a hardworker, and even though him and mimi bickered (all the time) at each other you still saw the love they had for one another. Theres so many memories I have of him, I miss him and I will always keep him in my heart, I love you papa and I’ll always be your big girl.

It’s taken awhile to write this and I’m still not sure what to say.
