Elvin Leon “Bud” Downey, III, 61, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, October 30, 2009. He was born in San Diego, CA on November 10, 1947, the son of the late Elvin L. and Gayle (Smith) Downey. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bud is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ruth (Fivecoats) Downey; two daughters, Tracy (Donald) Engle and Amy (James) Ehrick; six grandchildren, Austin, Kierra, Mitchell, John, Jenna, Samuel; a sister, Cathy (Michael) Keith; and a brother, Bob (Nancy) Downey. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Christians United Soldiers Memorial Chapel, 5626 Lawton Loop East Dr., Indianapolis.
