Edward L. Watkins, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away April 23, 2008. He was born August 27, 1925 to the late Charles and Fredia (Goodin) Watkins in Benton Harbor, MI. He retired from Xerox Distribution in 1982. Edward served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was a P.O.W., receiving the Bronze Star and Prisoner of War Medal. He was preceded in death by a son, David; sister, Charlotte; and brother, Bill Goodin. Edward is survived by his wife, Delores Watkins; two sisters, Shirley Hawn, Nina Hudson; a brother, Ed Goodin; his children, Larry Watkins, Garry Levi, Beverly Hidalgo, Edward Watkins, III, Charles Watkins, Debra Hidalgo, Charlotte Esteban; 20 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.Viewing will be held Sunday, April 27th from 4:30 – 8:00pm at Soldiers Memorial Chapel, 5626 Lawton Loop East Dr., Indianapolis, IN, and the Funeral will be Monday, April 28th at 11:00am with visitation at 10:00.He will be laid to rest with military honors at Memorial Park Cemetery.
