Miss Dorothy Eileen Hayes, 88, of Indianapolis passed away Monday, April 26th, 2010.She was born in Maplewood, IN on September 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Robert and Inez I. (Mendenhall) Hayes. Dorothy was widely know as the “Whistler” working on the radio and appearing on the Across Indiana program. She also appeared on the Dick Wolfsey program in the late 90’s and early 2000. Dorothy whistled for the Governrrs wives tea’s. She also worked at the Finance Center at Fort HarrisonShe is survived by the George D. Hayes family of California, Niece Donna (Herman) Turnell, Nephew James D.(Sandra) Hayes of Southport, Nephew Kenneth W. Hayes of Florida, Nephew Ronald Rouse of FL, and numerous great nieces and nephews and great great niece and nephew.She is preceded in death by Kenneth W. Hayes, Robert G. Hays of Indiana, George D. Hayes of California Helen Hayes-Bendler, and May ALice Hayes-Rouse,Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Castleton Church of the Nazarene from 10am – 12pmFuneral Service at 12pm.
