Date Of Birth: June 24, 1944
Date Of Death: October 2, 2011

In memory of Donald Lavern Shaffer: On October 2, 2011, we lost a husband, father, son, grand father, great-grand father, brother, uncle, and friend, Donald Lavern Shaffer of Noblesville, he passed away of natural causes at the age of 67. He was born in Bristol, VA on June 24, 1944 to Vernon Shaffer and Gracie Mae Shaffer. He was a proud US Veteran of the Navy, and went on to work as an electrician throughout most of his career. His love and kindness gripped the hearts of everyone who was blessed to have known him. He taught us through his unconditional love for his family and life in general that life is about how we touch the lives of others with kindness and generosity shared with each person that we meet. Don was a very soft spoken man, he had a brilliant and funny sense of humor and he was very much respected by those who knew him. There are truly no words to describe how his family and friends are, and will be affected by his passing. His legacy of love, laughter and kindness will live on with us forever, He shall never be forgotten. Don is survived by his beloved wife Jilline Shaffer, mother Gracie Shaffer, son Donald Shaffer Jr., son Donnie Joe Shaffer, daughter Tammy Yoeman, siblings Clifford Shaffer, Patsy Wilkinson, Kathy Kendall, and his grandchildren KaiLin Yoeman, KyAnn Deckard, Josie Hensley, Barbara Hensley and one great grandson due to be born very soon. Don was preceded in death by his father Vernon Shaffer and his brother Rickie Shaffer.
