Don S. “Pete” Peterson, died May 20, 2009 at age 89. He worked at Western Electric for 37 years, retiring in 1980. Pete was a member of Castleton United Methodist Church where he was active with the Variety Bunch. He also was a graduate of Butler University and a veteran of WWII. Pete was an avid golfer, loved to play chess, and enjoyed birdwatching, especially hummingbirds. He is survived by his wife Liza, daughter Pam Egnatz (Tom), sons Gary Peterson (Veronica), David Rinehuls (Gloria), four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23 at 11:00am at Castleton United Methodist Church, 7160 Shadeland Station, Indianapolis, Indiana with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. A private committal service will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor Rodney Frieden will officiate.Memorial donations may be made to the church

    I worked with Don at Western in late 50s. Don was a good guy and everyone liked him very much.
