Date Of Death: January 4, 2010

He was born March 16, 1949 in Indianapolis to William and Lena Gilley, and entered into a peaceful slumber January 4, 2010. He graduated from Purdue, and served his country honorably in the Army during Vietnam. Upon returning home, “D.D.” did many things, and spent much of his time volunteering with various veteran’s organizations, including the VA hospital in Indianapolis for 7 years.D.D. is the beloved brother of Mary Maynard and William Gilley, and he also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and many loved ones. At his request, no formal services will be held.DD, you are loved and will be missed.

    I didn’t really know you though you are a cousin. But I see you served our country and I want to say thanks for that. You served during a cruel time for soldiers…I am thankful for your service. Your brother B.J. was the only one I really got to know. I assume William is David. Mary’s kids I knew pretty well. R.I.P.

    1-9-10 Goodbye, I say to my Grandma’s baby “Uncle Dennis Daniel” May you soar the heavens with your family (especially your mother). I will no longer search for you when out and about ;for I know you are in heaven above!! I’ll never forget all of your attention and love! Only my Uncles “BEPPED” my nose, and how I looked forward to it god knows. You will forever be in my heart and soul,as you’ll forever be remembered as grandma Lena’s Baby and “MY UNCLE”!
