    Vernon,

I grieve for your loss and I grieve for my loss, but I rejoice in knowing that God has chosen to bring her home to Him.

I am so blessed that she found me and we had the opportunity to build such a wonderful relationship. I felt like she has been a part of my life for all my life and it is going to be very difficult not having her here.

I pray that the Lord brings you peace and comfort in this time of mourning and that His Spirit moves within you to accept the changes forth coming and provide relief for your pain.

    I love you all,
    Deb’s Favorite Cousin
    Uncle Becki

    Vern:
I was very sorry to hear of the passing of your wife. My prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult time. I hear that it was very sudden and it would be understandable if you are still in a state of shock. From my experience our wives are our best friends as well as our lovers. They mostly bring out the best in us and sometimes the worst but they do keep us in line. You will undoubtably keep her memory alive as you shoulder this transition with you kids and grand kids. Having gotten to know you a bit a few years ago from our trek back from Katrina, I know that you will be strong for yourself and your family. You are a decent man Vern with a very interesting and varied life experience. God bless!

My sincere condolences Vernon, to you and Debbie’s family. I have only known Debbie on FaceBook for 3 or 4 months however we have had a great time researching Wentworth Genealogy .. found out that her and I are 10th cousins and her heritage goes directly back to the United Kingdom and the Doomsday Book of 1066AD. I will keep this info on the site. Again, my deepest sympathy to you and yours.

    Grandpa Vernon and Dale,

I am so very sorry for this tragedy. I can’t imagine the pain that you are going through. It’s very surreal to think that you and Grandma Debbie were here at our house just last week.

I am praying for you both, that Jesus will draw you near to Him and comfort you in your loss.

We will see Grandma Debbie again someday. She is worshiping at the feet of our risen Savior at this moment. She is happy.

I miss Grandma Debbie and I know that you do too. Nothing can take away the pain that you are feeling, but we will see her again and when we do it will be for eternity.

    Praying for you. Love, Matthew

  16. Mickey Gonzalez says

    December 10, 2009 at 1:00 AM

    Dear Grandpa Vernon,

I’m praying fo you! I can’t imagine the feelings of loss and sadness you are feeling right now. Grandma Debbie will be remember forever by all of us because of her caring spirit. She had a true love for all of us and that will not soon be forgotten!

This reminds me of a line in one of my favorite songs which says,

“I’ll see you in another life in Heaven where we never say goodbye!”

That’s the mindset I am trying to achieve, and, even though it’s heartbreaking now, we DO know that we WILL see Grandma Debbie again one day in Heaven!

Even though saying these things doesn’t help the heartbreak you feel, I wanted to say them anyway.

    Always praying for ya!
    -Mickey

So sorry to hear about Debbie. Pauline Neddo told me at Mom’s funeral. Debbie was so young and I am sure she will be missed by her family. Mom told me that Dick Bewley said she was the most beautiful bride he had ever seen.. Not to sure what Willa had to say about that.! Friends from the Pleasant View Church were the best.

  48. Mary Alice Orange says

    December 17, 2009 at 1:00 AM

    Vern and family,

I am astounded to read in today’s paper of Debbie’s going home to be with the Lord.

Once upon a time, Debbie and I met at a Red Hat Society meeting – and immediately decided that we did not like it but we liked each other. She was such a morning person – and – I am not, so it was hard to keep up with her. However, my brother and I will always appreciate her enthusiasm (and yours, Vern) in helping us celebrate Larry’s 75th birthday 5 years ago.

Psalms 116:15 – “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”

    So sorry for your loss.
