I met David in the hospital as a chaplain, and he made a lasting impression on me. He was a lovable person. I’d come to know him and his family- his wife, Melba, the children, grand and great-grand children. May David rest in the bossom of our Lord Jesus Christ, whom he loving received in Holy Communion, fortified by divine love and eternal care in the resurrection. Peace to David as he now rests eternally. And for his family hope and strength of our good God, and the gifted support of one another you so richly expressed. Iv’e searched my heart for words to portray, the love and memories of my dad. To share with you today. A quiet man. Used few words, to teach his point of view.Through his actions everyday, all around him grew. In,wisdom and, knowledge,he touched all he knew. He taught me, to give, to those who were in need. A God given gift. In me a planted seed. The seed passed on through him to me. Given to generations, yet to be. A patriot for his country, beloved and so revered. The flag that flew, at his home, he held it very dear. A man of valour, honorable, and brave. He served his country, everyday. With no expectation of payment due, for serving his country red, white and blue. He a was humble, kind, thoughtful, through the end. Above all else, was a faithful servant of God, husband, father, and friend….
