Date Of Birth: January 16, 1930
Date Of Death: March 22, 2011

Dale Wilson Morgan Sr. 81, died Tuesday March 22, 2011 at St Francis Hospital Beech Grove, IN following a long illness. He leaves behind his “sweetie pie of 63 years, Alberta F. (Robinson) Morgan. He was preceded in death by a son, John S. Morgan III (JUGHEAD)in 2007 and brothers, Chuck, John, Glen, Jerry, Thomas, and Denny Morgan. His surviving children are: Dale W. Morgan Jr. (BRAIN) and wife Joanne, Sharon L. Hunt (SHERN) husband Mike, Virginia L. Morgan (MOO COW), Nancy A. Harshman (SAM) husband Kevin, Richard W. Morgan (SLICK) wife Ruth, Kathrine E. Wynkoop (KUGGLY) companion Jon Hicks, Caroline M. Columbus (MUGG) companion Josh Bixler, Carl J. Morgan (WOAF). As you can see all the children had nicknames and so do most of the grandchildren, he loved doing that!!! He also leaves behind 31 loving grandchildren whom provided him with 53 great grandchildren. He loved them all very much. He also leaves behind 3 brothers, Irvin, Joe and Frank Morgan, and 2 sisters, Virginia Williams and Rosalie Mason and several nieces and nephews. Dale joined the Marine Corps at the young age of 17, and served them for 5 years during the Korean Conflict. He became a Drill Sergeant in the Marines and carried that mentality thru the years and in the raising of his children. He dedicated his life to Jehovah in 1986. He loved watching anything on TV that had to do with the wars this world has seen. He always told many stories about his time serving in the military and if you were one of the lucky ones to hear them you could almost picture yourself there. Once out of the Marine Corps, Dale went to work for Allison Transmission and worked there for 35 years and was a Member of UAW Local 933. He also worked part time for Sears as a Shop Manager for many years to help support his family. He was a part-time security guard in Arizona for several years. He loved working on cars and could tell you what was wrong with one by listening to the engine. He also loved tinkering with all sorts of things in his garage. He also had a very strong love of the music of Chet Atkins and playing his guitar with his children and grandchildren. Everyone that knew him, knew of his comedy, wit, and laughter that was so very contagious. Dale will be sorely missed by all that knew him and loved him. He loved each and every one of his children unconditionally and he deeply loved his wife.

My dearest Daddy, I know you were tired and ready to go, and you are now at peace and well again. I have a heavy heart knowing that I will never hear your voice and listen to your silly jokes and calling me Kugg. I am so glad I was able to be there for you and take care of you during this awful time you had, I would do it all over again and again just like you were always there for me. I miss you and love you very very much and I will see you again someday.

With Dad’s passing, a huge void remains. We will always remember Dad as a man of integrity who loved and worked hard for his family. He was a loving husband to Mom for over 60 years, something uncommon in this day and age, a Dad who loved all of his children through good times as well as challenging times. He taught us all so many things, to be strong with a gentle heart. He is irreplaceable, and we will miss him terribly, but will remember so many great times. This hopefully will comfort us who are left behind for now…We love you so much Dad…….Wiss and Joanne xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Dale was like a father to me for so many years while I was growing up. Very fond memories of him sitting at the kitchen table with his arms folded across his chest trying to keep all of his kids “in line” !!! I’ll always remember camping and how it seemed that the more the merrier ! I am sad to see him go but know that he led a full and happy life — he is in a very special place now.
