Creed Lee Zickefoose “Zeke”, 81, died peacefully at Meadow Lakes in Mooresville, Indiana on Friday, August 28, 2009. He was born on February 4, 1928 in Alton, West Virginia to Walker Ray and Trecia Mae(Gooden) Zickefoose.Mr. Zickefoose was a WWII veteran. He joined the Army Air Corps in1945 and earned the rank of CPL before leaving the Army in 1947 with an honorable discharge.Zeke met Ada Carter and instantly fell in love with her they married three weeks later on August 19, 1950. Creed and Ada had four children; Sandra, Linda, Roger, and Paula. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion #500 both in Indianapolis and retired from Diamond Chain in the early 1990’s after 30 years plus service.Mr. Zickefoose loved to joke and make others laugh. He also liked to work puzzles and he did not miss stopping at many yard sales. He was looking forward to the birth of his first great-great granddaughter who is expected to arrive this November.Mr. Zickefoose is survived by his children: Sandra Lane, Linda(Michael) Stroble, Roger (Sue) Zickefoose, Paula (Jerry) Gill, eightgrandchildren: Susie (Marty) Dyer, Lloyd (Kendra) Beal, Carl Beal, Ryan(Rita) Ebler, Kathy (Ray) Petty, Roger (Carrie) Zickefoose, Luke Sadler, and Christina (Mark) Goveia; seventeen great-grandchildren;brothers: Sterling Zickefoose, Lewis Zickefoose, Basel Zickefoose, Donnie Zickefoose, and Sisters: Opal Zickefoose and Christine Mayo.He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ada, brothers: Gerald, Dennis, and Junior, sister: Anita, grandchildren Jerry and Amanda Anderson and son-in-law Gib Lane.Visitation will be Monday, August 31, at New Testament Baptist Church in Martinsville beginning at 11 a.m. concluding with his funeral at 1 p.m. Reverend Larry Heskett will perform the ceremony. He will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis with Military honors.

    I miss you so much gramps! You were always there for me teaching me making me laugh and giving me things like an old fisherman hat for example. I wish you could have met my wife and your great great grandchildren. I have 3 boys and 1 on the way, Aiden, Michael, and Xavier you would love them. Thanks for teaching me and making me laugh gramps love you and miss you. Will never forget you.
