Plainfield—Lt. Col. Charles L. Main, 88, passed away at his home March 12, 2011.
He was born November 13, 1922, the youngest of the nine children of Charles W. and Mabel Burk Main of Hancock County, Indiana.
He will be missed by his beloved wife of 68 years, Marjorie Hauser Main; and by their only child, Charlene Rider (husband, Daniel).
Charles had a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force and then at Farm Bureau Co-op of Indiana. He did volunteer taxes to help senior citizens. He was a man of strength, honor, and generosity of heart, and will be greatly missed by family, relatives, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Harry W. Moore Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, with burial to follow in Fiscus Cemetery, Coal City, Indiana. Friends may start calling at 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be directed to Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice of Hendricks County.
