Bernard G. Leblang (Bernie) age 61, died at St. Vincent hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana on Monday, July 8, 2013.

Born September 6, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he lived most of his life in South Bend, Indiana. Bernie was a long time manager for Kmart Corporation and most recently joined the security team at Notre Dame. As a lifelong fan of Notre Dame, he enjoyed being part of this community very much.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Leblang. Two children, Shelley Leblang Johnstone of Indianapolis and Ryan Leblang of Mishawaka. Two step children, Jodie Stahly Payette and her husband Scott of Boston and Rob Stahly of Indianapolis. Bernie also had 2 granddaughters, Delaney and Sidney Johnstone.

Born to Bernard and Ruth Leblang, Bernie was part of a large family whom he loved very much. He is remembered by his father, Bernard Leblang Sr of Notre Dame; 5 brothers: Richard (Olga), Frank (Linda), James (Suzanne), Mark (Laura), and John (Tina); 1 sister: Mary Leblang Ford; and 20 nieces and nephews. Bernie was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Leblang and his brother, Eugene Leblang.

A memorial service is planned for 11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 13 at Christ the King Church, South Bend, Indiana. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and the reception afterward. Arrangements: Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.
