I would like to extend my sincere sympathies to Alberta’s family. I worked with Bertie at Allison’s for several years, first at plant 3 in the early 1980’s then again at plant 12 in the mid 1990’s and continuing to the AT building when our department was moved. My memories of Bertie are one of a strong minded hard working woman,(who had the most beautiful complextion!) Although we were blessed to have such a good job with G.M., the work was for the most part hard and repetitious, Bertie was a ray of sunshine, such a funny person, she would get us all laughing….I have several such memories that are etched in my mind that to this day when I think of them, they bring a smile(if not an outright laugh) to me! I had the pleasure of meeting Bertie and a couple of other gals we worked with for lunch last year, and although her health was failing…she still had that same old “twinkle” in her eyes! The world will be a bleaker place with her not here….but I am grateful to have known her….God Bless her and her family and friends. Sincerely, Kathy Haycox.

I’ll always remember Bertie as a fun and crazy person. Bertie and my mama were always “cutting up” and having a good ole time when I was little and those memories will always be with me. Rest in peace, Bertie. I know y’all are probably “cutting up” and having a good time in Heaven.
