Eugene F. Cowell, 77, of Logansport, passed away May 2, 2014 with his family by his side.
He was born January 29, 1937 in Logansport, Indiana, the son of Thomas Cowell and Thelma Walker. Eugene spent his whole life in Logansport. He graduated in 1955 from Logansport High School. He then served in the Indiana National Guard for six years. Eugene married Doris Dennis Cowell April 13, 1958. He was a member of the Logansport First Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are his children, Steven (Jackie) Cowell, William (Glennda) Cowell, Kevin (Darla) Cowell, Sharon (Darren) Cole, and Diana Boehme; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one step-sister, Fredona (Herman) Faucett.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two children, Jane Ann Cowell and Eugene Cowell, Jr.; his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Logansport First Church of the Nazarene, 109 W. Clinton St., with Rev. Horace Smith officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
